Another hot day with the sky showing signs of crying, but it did not. This is going to be one long post.
Went with me papa to JB this morning. Left the house at about 9.50am but missed the 10am bus. Thus, we had to wait for another 15mins. Took TIBS/SMRT bus service 966 all the way to Marseling (is this how you spell it?) MRT. The journey took 45mins. I had to use the toilet at the MRT because of the known fact that anyone who wants to use the toilet over there across the Causeway will have to pay 20sen. I wonder why the Colonial masters called it ‘Causeway’. Anyway, we took another TIBS/SMRT bus service 950 to get to the Customs, crossed the bridge and got to that side. The queues at the M’sia Customs were really short, thus the service was really fast. Haha! That is what you get on a non-school-holiday weekday. However, the number of vehicles entering, mostly cars, were just as many as on any given weekend. Dots to those people who want to drive in and pay that RM20 (did they reduce the charge?).
After we came out of the Customs, our first stop was to find
a shop selling computer software located very near City Square. I had to get the
Norton Antivirus 2006, which I eventually did. Unfortunately, after installing it about an hour ago, a message pops out saying that I have purchased a pirated copy. Now, why was I surprised at the message? Gave my good brother a call to tell him of this problem and he told me to check out
Carrefour at Suntec City (not too sure about the one at Plaza Singapura) for the original copy of the Antivirus software which is selling at
half-price for students who present their
Student’s Pass. I will definitely check it out on Sunday with my financier a.k.a Mummy after I have collected my new glasses from Bugis, which I will share with you, my dear readers, more about it a little later on. Yes, as I was saying... So, we found the place and Daddy paid RM6 for the now obsolete disc.
Next stop, Komtar for some grocery shopping and then back to City Square for me to hunt down my Japanese-translated-Chinese comic. The shop is located on either the highest level or the second highest. Where ever it is, it is on the same floor as Popular Bookstore but is at the opposite corner. Oh yes! I bought another Korean movie VCD; “My Sassy Girl”. Plan to watch it tonight but may have to shelve it for another day due to my already-falling eyelids.
Then we came home. The one thing good about travelling on a “long distance” bus is that I get a chance to nap/sleep. Yes, I fell asleep on the bus home. Finally reached home at 3.15pm. A really short trip.
16th May 2006, Tuesday.
Enx and I arranged to meet near the Bugis Village MacDonald’s at 1+++pm. She had to go back to school for a short while in order to submit a Leave Application Form (for more details, click on Enx under Links). We had a nice little Merry-go-Round there at the arranged meeting place. You see, I called her on my hand phone because I did not see her there. She answered and told me that she was already there. It was only when I turned around and took a few steps forward when we saw each other. What an exciting game…
We went up to the optical shop where my cousin used to work and spent quite some time there, poring over the different types of frames and trying them on. Actually, it was I who did a lot of ‘trying-on’ as I wanted to get a new pair of glasses. I finally settled on a quite funky brown rim-less pair and after some help at bargaining from Enx, the sales girl let me have that 1 pair of frames, 1 pair of some special lenses which I do not know how to explain well since it was Enx who did the explaining to me, and another pair of ‘normal’ lenses, at $105. Amazing… A world of difference from what I saw from another optical shop near my home. My original plan was to buy the frames from an upstairs shop in Bugis Street and then go back to that optical shop to get the lenses done. Oh well… What is done is done. Haha! J I cannot wait to collect it on Sunday.
After that, we walked to Bugis Street as Enx wanted to see the frames that I was eyeing. Sadly, the shop was closed when we got there. The funny thing was that it was due to open at 3pm and it was exactly 3 when we got there. Haha! From there, we walked to Maybank, which is opposite the National Library, as I wanted to withdraw some money in order to pay for my glasses. We then walked to Bugis Junction and got ourselves a glass of something from a restaurant. She had Iced Chocolate while I had a Kiwianana OJ; made of Kiwi, Banana and Orange Juice. It was worth it; $3.90 w/o GST and service charge, especially on such a hot day. I made myself happy by buying three computer games. Unfortunately, I have to get some sort of 3D card in order to play one of the games. A game that I find highly amusing is
Mall Tycoon 2 Deluxe where the player gets to build and manage his/her own shopping mall/centre or else can choose to play a Scenario where the player can choose the task. Interesting yet frustrating as I found out only yester eve that I have poor business sense. Sigh… Must build up my mall and get at least $1000 in profits.
Cheerio and I will blog again. Soon.
